In mid-October, Nancy and I flew to Seattle to visit our Pacific Northwest-loving son, Kevin. Seattle extended our fall color viewing as it has maples and other broadleaf trees in abundance which we don't have in Colorado. Kevin is the consummate tour guide and we never lacked for beautiful things to see, wonderful seafood and one of our favorites -- riding the Seattle ferries.
Every so often, I like to select a photographic theme and follow if for the coming year. I have selected waterfalls, reflections, rocks, and clouds in previous years. Seattle inspired me to select leaves as my new theme, as it as an abundance of beautiful examples as illustrated in the photos above and that follow.
Near where Kevin lives on Alki Point in west Seattle are the Seattle Chinese Gardens. The Gardens are hosting Astra Lumina Seattle for its 2nd season and is the 20th experience in the Lumina Enchanted Night Walk series by Moment Factory. We attended the laser lights with music show in the early evening. There was a gentle mist/fog falling that enhanced the experience (and kept the crowds down). Enjoy!
"There Be Trolls in Seattle. We found one in front of the National Nordic Museum. And there be rainbows, as well. This rainbow appeared over Seattle as we walked along the waterfront on Alki Point.
Bye until next time.
